• Daily Wage Workers are Starving in Nepal's Sudden COVID-19 Lockdown

16+ weeks into our lockdown and it's disproportionately affecting people who are dependent on daily wages. One of the groups we work closely with are the safa tempo (electric minibus) drivers who have no work at all now because public transportation has been banned. Close to 200 families are affected and 112 families urgently need your help for basic food supplies.

Our company is working with Krishna Khadyanna, a poverty alleviation organization with a great reputation in Nepal for food distribution during the 2015 earthquake.

We have committed to donating NPR 55,000 (about US$455) to help provide food for 35 families. Through this crowdfunding campaign, we are trying to keep funding food for 112 families every week. Our company will continue to donate as much as we can to match your donations.

Every penny/rupee you donate will directly go to buying food for affected families. This effort is completely volunteer-powered!

    • We have temporarily closed our crowdfunding campaign as Kathmandu's public transportation sector is very gradually opening up. Thank you so much again for your support!

All of the food donations raised will be distributed to the safa tempo drivers and their families to make sure we can help them transition until they have more steady work again.

    • We’ll be updating the total amount of your donations we receive every day on this page.

      • To save on some transaction fees on normal crowdfunding platforms, we’re hosting this on our own website and therefore don’t have all the features.
      • Please note this campaign will end when the lockdown ends and the last week of donations will help the families have 1 week of buffer to resume their lives.
